Orthodontic Treatment

Dr. Zesheng Chen is glad to be the Orthodontist for Magnolia Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics and looks forward to meeting you and your children to help them grow into beautiful smiles.

Early Orthodontic Treatment

According to the American Association of Orthodontists, kids should see an orthodontist by the time they’re 7. Why so early? Well, this allows Dr. Z to see how your child’s jaws and teeth are growing and helps him to detect certain problems early. After all, starting treatment at the right time means your kids don’t have to be in braces for as long. That’s a win-win for the whole family.

Initial Check-up by Age 7

Dr. Z and the AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) recommends a first check-up by an orthodontist by age 7. By age 7, your child has enough permanent teeth for an orthodontist to evaluate the development of their teeth and the jaws which provides him with the information to spot subtle problems that can be addressed prior to their teenage years saving you time and money.

The initial checkup usually results in the following:

• No treatment is expected to be necessary.
• Treatment may be needed in the future, so we’ll periodically check their face and jaw while they grow
• There is a problem that lends itself to early treatment.
